[attr="class","rcgenright"] [attr="class","rcgentitle"]GENERAL [attr="class","rcgen2"] [attr="class","rcgen3"]We don’t want to be huge assholes here, but we’d like to foster a good community, and as such have a few rules we require everyone to follow. [break][break] • Respect is huge for us! Follow the golden rule, and treat everyone as you would want to be treated. Be a decent person, not a jerk.[break][break] • Following the rule above, please don’t fight. If someone gets the canon or face you want, or disagrees with you, it’s not your job to lash out. Try to work it out and be civil – if you can’t do this, message staff and we’ll help you. [break][break] • ANYTHING STAFF SAY IS FINAL. We can’t stress this enough; if we tell you something, follow it. [break][break] • This should go without saying, as the site is hosted on Proboards, but all content must be PG-13 in nature or lower. By this, there should be nothing that is explicitly sexual, anything more than simple wounds, and swearing and cursing should be kept to a minimum. If for some reason you require something sexual, we ask that you fade to black and take it to Skype or Discord, as we do not allow mature threads in any capacity. [break][break] • Here on RC, we value quality over quantity in posts. This said, we have a minimum word count of 100 words. Common courtesy also applies, though; if your partner gives you a thousand words, try to give them something to work off of. [break][break] • Activity checks are once a month, and we follow a rent-paying model. Each character has to pay $10 to stay safe for the next month. Unless you post an absence or notify staff, we reserve the right to archive characters and delete accounts, opening up faces and canons again. [break][break] • We have a character limit of five before more slots have to be bought in the site store. Characters filled for want ads don’t count towards this limit, although if you have a friend post an ad to get around this limit, we will take notice. [break][break] • We also employ member accounts here, used for OOC purposes. Post in the notification thread to get your account sorted.[break][break] • Godmodding, metagaming, etc, are not allowed at all. Your character, no matter what their powers may have been in their canon, cannot control another character or know exactly what will happen. [break][break] • Please don't pester people for replies; they have lives too, and will get to it when they get to it. To this end, however, you are encouraged to tag those you're roleplaying with, so it's easier to find out if you've gotten a post. [break][break] • Have fun! Don't take everything too seriously, and try to enjoy yourself. [break][break] • All members are required to participate in a minimum of one thread with Nikki , group or one-on-one. This is non-negotiable. [attr="class","rcgentitle"]CANON AND FACE CLAIMS [attr="class","rcgen2"] [attr="class","rcgen3"]Here on RC, we allow both canon and original characters, so there are some specific rules we’ve set in place.[break][break] • Both canons and face claims can only come from media that are primarily one of the following: anime, manga, cartoons, comics, video games, or rock operas. Things like Supernatural, even though they had an anime adaptation, do not count. If you’re confused, ask staff. We accept canons from other sources on a case-by-case basis; you must clear them with staff first.[break][break] • If you think your canon could be offensive in nature, we ask that you reconsider creating them. By choosing to continue, staff reserve the right to outright deny characters if we think that they're not being handled in an acceptable manner. [break][break] • On the matter of original face claims: if you have art that is yours of a character you designed and would like to use, please run it by staff before proceeding. We like to check that all art is yours or you have commissioned it, so as to avoid theft.[break][break] • Since a character can be used as both a face claim and a canon, we do allow for the person who used them first to decide if the other can be made. If they aren’t comfortable with the doppelganger, then we’ll mark it down and shut down any use of them. [break][break] • If more than one person want the same character, whoever posts the reserve first gets it. [break][break] • Try to limit yourself on taking multiple canons from the same series. If for some reason you absolutely must do this, try to take characters who don't or have not interacted, and especially don't hog main characters from the same series. [break][break] • Duplicates of canons are definitely not allowed, and are only allowed for faces in the case of twins or triplets. [break][break] • Following the rule above, we do not allow multiple versions of the same canon, despite being from alternate realities or different timelines. [break][break] • In the case of identical twin canons, they count as different characters for canons, but the same for face claim purposes. It’d be weird to have two unrelated characters looking like the same person. [break][break] • All art used should be 2D in nature, and we ask that you try to use high-quality images and avoid screencaps. The large image on the profile page is 950px by 350px, and if you have any problem with this, just ask for help. The staff are very good at finding and creating images, and are always happy to assist you.
